Look for the Best Right Gym for You in Port Coquitlam
Selecting the right gym is a matter of your needs, desires and goals. You may need special attention because of an existing health condition, desire a gym that offers extra amenities or have high expectations and goals that might require the services of a personal trainer. Before you find the right facility, you need to identify all three of these and find the one that offers the closest match. One of the first needs pertains to your budget. Do you need to keep the cost as low as possible? If so, first identify the training options that offer a low cost option.
What’s Your Fitness Goal?
Whether you’re training for a marathon, want to fit into a size 8 for a special occasion or are working to lower blood pressure or improve some other health condition, you want to find a facility that can help you the most to achieve these goals. Gyms or facilities that offer the services of a personal trainer can establish an exercise program designed specifically for your situation. As you get closer to your goal, a personal trainer will change the program to meet your changing needs.
If your goal is to lose weight, starting an exercise program is the first step in weight loss. However, a proper diet goes hand-in-hand with exercise if you want to be successful. Consider the aid of a personal trainer, a boot camp or gym that offers dietary advice and weighs you in at the beginning of each session.
Do You Have Special Needs?
Do you need help getting started or have a physical condition that requires extra attention? Look for a program that offers the services of a personal trainer or a gym with staff with training in the area you require. Some personal trainers may even contact your physician, with your permission, to design a specific program to aid you on your way back to health.
If budget isn’t the biggest issue, then ask yourself if you desire all the frills and benefits a gym can offer. Find a gym that has these facilities, such as a whirlpool, masseuse, juice bar, pool or any other extra you think is important.
Test a gym first. Some people like to try out trial memberships first and then make their final selection after they have experience at several of the fitness areas. You can also sign up for the shortest commitment available to test the gym.
If you want to jumpstart fitness, consider a boot camp or personal trainer to help you.
No matter which of the Port Coquitlam fitness options you select, getting started is half the battle. Don’t procrastinate, but do take time to find the one that best suits your needs.
Having been a competitive figure skater I had been in great physical shape all my life, without having to think about it. When I hit my mid 30’s I was starting to gain weight and was not able to develop an effective plan to take the weight off and get back into shape. I was concerned that a program lifting weights would over-develop my muscles and I would end up looking mannish. I‘m now 43 and have regained my strength, tone and definition – my arms (including what used to be “bat-wings” have never looked better! I feel better than I have in years and it is in a large part due to my work with Sam! I’ve been able to incinerate inches and fat off my problem areas. I toned my hips, butt, and inner thighs. I look and feel great in my new bikini.
Somehow I found myself 40 lbs overweight and nearing my 50th birthday. In the past I had tried various gyms but with disastrous results. The “trainers” had little or no experience working with clients such as myself with chronic back issues. In the past couple of years I ended up with a very bad case of Plantar Fasciitis on my left foot and tendonitis in my right shoulder. I wanted desperately to lose weight and be pain free, but was very leery of working with someone inexperienced. For that reason I sought out a trainer with a Kinesiology degree. That way I could be confident they understood the issues I had.
I met Sam and he worked with me over the next 5-6 months on various programs always altering as we went along to accommodate my injuries. I lost 26lbs, toned my body and although I am not completely pain free, I have been able to eliminate my pain medication.
Through my recommendation, my friend also started to work with Sam and her results have been great as well!
I have been extremely pleased with the results I got training with Sam and thoroughly enjoyed our time working together.
