FAQ

WHY DO I NEED A PERSONAL TRAINER?

Just like basketball, golf, and swimming, it’s essential to learn the proper technique and skill. Keep in mind there are thousands of different exercises to do. A personal trainer will narrow down the ones specific for your goals, fitness level, and body type. A cookie cutter program will fail you. We have done the guess work for you, and have the experience to formulate a fitness program so that you see results! We will save you time and money and the heartache of a failed exercise program.

HOW MANY SESSIONS DO I NEED?

It depends on your exercise history, goals and lifestyle. One size does not fit all. Most people will train 2 to 3 times a week. Our goal is to make you an independent exerciser as soon as possible and to give you the tools to be able to exercise on a consistent basis.

DO I NEED TO DO ANY OTHER WORKOUTS ON MY OWN?

Depending on your goals, your trainer may recommend that you do some cardio and some stretching on your own.

WHO HIRES A PERSONAL TRAINER?

  • Beginners who need guidance and motivation.
  • Experienced exercisers who need to tweak their workouts to a whole other level.
  • Elite athletes wanting strength and conditioning to optimize performance.
  • Pre/Post natal women.
  • Post rehab individuals.
  • Even personal trainers will hire other personal trainers.
  • Anyone wanting to train smarter and not harder.
  • Anyone wanting to get fit and live a healthy and active lifestyle!

WILL I SEE RESULTS?

YES. As long as you eat, exercise, and sleep as we tell you, you will see results! Make sure to take a look at our testimonials of clients just like you, who have seen great results.

SHOULDN’T I BUY AN EXERCISE DVD OR BOOK INSTEAD?

If only it was that easy… A video or book will not be able to assess your exercise history, exercise skill level, or help you set S.M.A.R.T goals. Our body diagnostic assessment will allow us to find a fast route to your body, in order for you to see quick and effective results!

CAN I DO IT ON MY OWN?

There is always a spike in gym attendance in January and September. However, 90% of people working out alone fall off their program within the first 20 days due to NOT seeing any results. Unfortunately, health clubs benefit by locking you into a contract. Our trainers are experts at finding a fast route to your body and will develop an effective program for you to stick to. Save time, money, and energy. We’ve done the research and have the experience to help you achieve your goals.

Our job is to teach you these skills so you can eventually become consistent and independent with your exercise program.

ISN’T CARDIO THE BEST WAY TO LOSE FAT?

No. Cardio will make you fat! Yes, you will burn fat while doing cardio, but you will also burn lean muscle. By burning off lean muscle, you lower your body’s ability to burn fat. Over time by doing just cardio, you will lower your body’s fat metabolism. Many will do countless hours of cardio with short-lived results. Have you noticed that marathon runners are pretty lean but saggy looking? Cardio is important, but you also must include resistance training to counteract any muscle tissue lost due to doing cardio. Resistance training will rev up your metabolism and help you burn fat on auto-pilot all day long.

WILL I GET BIG MUSCLES IF I LIFT WEIGHTS?

No. Lifting weights does not necessarily result in big muscles. Especially if you’re a woman, you don’t have the testosterone or the body type to easily put on bulky muscle. Of course, if it is your goal to build muscle, we can point you in that direction. Cardio alone will actually make you fat in the long run. In order to quickly and effectively achieve your weight-loss goals, resistance training must be in your program along with proper nutrition and cardio.

DO I NEED GYM A MEMBERSHIP?

Not at all. If you have one, great! You don’t necessarily need a gym membership to get fit and healthy. We will teach you workouts to do at home with body weight exercises requiring very minimal equipment. Our clients have seen great results without the use of fancy equipment. Don’t be fooled by fancy equipment and over priced gym memberships. If you really want a gym membership, we can gladly recommend one near your home or work.

WHAT IS A SESSION LIKE?

We can determine what the best routine will be after we have a free consultation.

ARE YOUR WORKOUTS HARD?

In your first session, our personal trainers will assess your fitness level. We understand that everyone has a different starting point. If you’re new to working out, we will push you to a level that you’re comfortable with. Of course if you want to be pushed to your limitations, just let us know!

DO YOU OFFER A BOOTCAMP? QUALITY VS QUANTITY

We are the ‘non-bootcamp’ program. An instructor can not provide you with proper instruction with 25+ people in a workout. Safety and having you see great results are very important to us.

‘Bootcamps’ are also heavily cardio focused with a general cookie cutter workout approach, not always taking into consideration of your goals or injuries. There is a far greater potential for injury when you increase the number of participants in a group. You’ll get far more interaction and support from your trainer when working out with a small group or in a 1 on 1 setting, as opposed to a bootcamp with 25+ people.
